Carphone Warehouses picks BlackBerry

Anyone not satisfied with the current selection of shops selling BlackBerry handsets now has another choice: Carphone Warehouse is finally going to stock BlackBerry grower Research in Motion's three latest consumer-friendly models in its 780 UK stores.

CW will offer the BlackBerry Curve, 8800 and Pearl. The icing on the cake is that Carphone will be the only chain to sell the three handsets across O2, Orange and T-Mobile.

Should you be reading this story from outside the UK and be thinking 'Why not here?', CW also has plans to mirror the agreement with network operators in France, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and The Netherlands.

The agreement could also prove a nice little earner for CW too, if RIM's latest sales figures are anything to go by. Last month, RIM turned over $1.08bn in its first quarter, ended 2 June 2007, representing an increase of 76.5 per cent on the same quarter of last year.
