Wii gets wee add-on screen

What, no telly?

If you didn’t see the point of the tennis racket shaped add-on to the Wii Remote, then you definately won’t see the point of a 7in clip-on screen from Japanese computer peripherals manufacturer Century.

Century's wee Wii screen

The display clips onto the Wii’s side and allows you to play all the games you usually would on an average-size TV, just much, much smaller.

It has a built-in infrared sensor so you could do away with the Wii's own set-top sensor bar and cable, which is a slight advantage. But the idea is just so stupid because, stand more than a few feet away from it and you probably won't be able to see a thing on screen. But get any closer and you won't have room to swing the Remote with your usual abandon.

Needless to say, it will only set you back about ¥14,800 (£60/€89/$119). And who knows, the kids might even enjoy it more than a 7in in-car DVD player...
