RSA unwraps small business authentication appliance

RSA is looking to cater for the needs of smaller businesses with mobile workforces with a new version of its authentication appliance range.
The RSA SecurID Appliance 100 provides two-factor authentication for up to 100 users.
Two-factor authentication is based on something you know, such as a password, in combination with something you physically have, such as an authentication token. The method provides a more secure means to access resources than relying on a password alone provides.
The product is easy to set-up and run, making authenticated remote access to applications such as email a viable proposition for smaller businesses without dedicated IT staff. The technology is compatible with 250 items of remote access kit.
The appliance, available from next month, costs from $8,499 plus annual maintenance via the RSA SecurWorld Partner Programme distribution scheme. ®
