O2 punters in Humberside back in touch

And O2 staff get a grand bonus

O2 has fixed the problem which meant customers in Hull and Humberside were struggling to make or receive mobile calls.

The problem began Friday morning, according to Reg readers.

A spokeswoman for O2 said: "It's all fixed now - it was a cabling problem at one of our base stations."

In unrelated news O2 is paying eligible employees a £1,000 bonus for adding an additional one million customers during 2006. The bonus scheme will cost the firm a total of £10.5m.

For the upcoming year the mobile firm is concentrating on making its customers happy. If O2 is No.1 for customer satisfaction in the UK at the end of December 2007 staff will receive another £1,000 a head.

Meanwhile we reckon the bars of Britain will be crowded with O2 staff getting their round in tonight.®
