Blackberry implicated in Lindsay Lohan letter caper

Lindsay Lohan's publicist has blamed a Blackberry as the culprit behind the star's rambling, grammatical disaster of a tribute to deceased director Robert Altman.

"She quickly put something together on her Blackberry," spokeswoman Leslie Sloane told Reuters. "It was written very quickly, and it was from the heart."

Lohan's letter garnered heaps of unwanted attention after LA Times columnist Patt Morrison got a hold of it. The missive - titled "Dead is hard, Life is much easier" - was meant to celebrate the life of Altman. Instead, it contained gems such as,

"Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourselves' (12st book) -everytime there's a triumph in the world a million souls hafta be trampled on.-altman Its true. But treasure each triumph as they come."

"Life comes once, doesn't 'keep coming back' and we all take such advantage of what we have."

"I learned so much from Altman and he was the closest thing to my father and grandfather that I really do believe I've had in several years."

Lohan ended the letter with the advice that we all "Be Adequite."

Morrison had at Lohan, describing her heartfelt note as "alarmingly incoherent."

But isn't such criticism too harsh in the context of the Blackberry defense?

Electronic devices have tricked us all into writing stupid e-mails and papers. And the small Blackberry, in particular, can collapse the clearest of thoughts, especially if you have fat thumbs. ®
