eBay shopkeepers locked out

Who stole Christmas?

eBay has nothing to say today on why many subscribers to its Manager Pro service are unable to access the service.

A statement on the website says:

We have received reports from members that some of your Selling Manager Pro subscriptions are no longer available in My eBay.

We are aware of this problem and are working hard to resolve it as soon as possible. Please do not resubscribe at this stage.

We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work to fix the issue.

A spokesman for eBay UK refused to comment further.

Selling Manager Pro costs $15.99 a month. It makes relisting items easier and is mainly used by serious eBay sellers.

Comments on eBay message boards said the service had "disappeared".

One frustrated seller said:

As Chewbacca would say - AAAAAAAHHhhh EEeeeuhhhhhh.

As Han Solo would say: "Blast it!"

The timing really sucks - so much for all the top level announcements that eBay don't play around with things in the Christmas peak selling period.

An updated system announcement says the problem has hit other listing services too: "Subscribers of some listing tools such as Selling Manager, Selling Manager Pro, Seller Assistant and Seller Assistant Pro may be unable to access their accounts." ®
