Nvidia opens online SLI kit bazaar

Buy new multi-GPU parts, sell your old ones

Nvidia today launched a platform to help US PC users not only spec up multi-GPU equipped systems, buy the key components and then build the machine, but also sell their old kit to help cover the costs.

Called the Nvidia SLI Marketplace, the site provides interactive buying tools that allow users to specify GPUs, motherboards, memory and power supplies, with links to online sellers of new kit and folk auctioning used products on eBay. The partnership with eBay extends to a branded area on the auction site in which users can offer their existing kit.

The site also includes tools intended to help customers decide which components they're going to need for their SLI rig, either by building one from scratch or upgrading an existing set-up.

SLI Marketplace also includes a selection of pre-designed systems from Nvidia's system-builder partners, including ABS, Alienware, Vicious, CyberPower, PC Club and Poly Systems.

The website is currently open only to US residents. There's no word yet on when its will be opened to overseas buyers and sellers.

The SLI Marketplace is located at www.slizone.com/marketplace. ®
