Stop press: Planktic foraminiferal biostratigraphy data!

Catastrophic mass extinction horizon synchronicity

It's bad enough down here at Vulture Central having to deal every morning with an inbox packed to the gunwales with breathless emails describing just how some company's exciting new product will cure AIDS, reverse climate change, and restore peace in the Middle East, but for the love of all that's Holy, can the people responsible for this release please just get a grip:

NEW EVIDENCE STRENGTHENS CHICXULUB IMPACT-K/T BOUNDARY LINK

High-resolution and quantitative planktic foraminiferal biostratigraphy from two SE Mexico stratigraphic sections shows that the Chicxulub-related Complex Clastic Unit is synchronous with the ejecta-rich airfall layer and the Cretaceous/Paleogene (K/Pg) catastrophic mass extinction horizon in the El Kef (Tunisia) and Caravaca (Spain) sections. These new micropaleontogical data confirm that the K/Pg impact event and the Chicxulub impact event are the same one. This contradicts the suggestion by others that the Chicxulub impact predated the K/Pg boundary by about 300 ka.

Yup, try that when you've got a hangover and the editor's demanding immediate delivery of that in-depth analysis of the Taiwanese DRAM sector which you promised would be done by last Friday. And on that very subject, high-resolution and quantitative demonstratification of the Taiwan/Japan DRAM intersection confirms that the catastrophic market impact event... ®
