Get a Reg logo on Google maps and win $10,000

Radio host puts up the dough

Those of you who want to take Google ads to the next level may be interested in a deal offered by Los Angeles radio host Phil Hendrie. The comic has put up a large lump sum to anyone who can have their banner spotted from space by Google maps.

"You know, I have this plan," Hendrie said, during a broadcast this month.

"Do you ever do Google maps? Okay, you know how they have the satellite picture of the whole world, right. I've got a standing offer for $10,000 for anybody who puts a sign on the roof of their house big enough that it can be seen by the satellite on Google maps."

While often sarcastic and satirical, Hendrie sounded very serious about this offer. And we think it provides a fine opportunity for Register readers to claim the cash prize.

You could, of course, make a sign to promote your good name or company. But why not plug El Reg instead? Pick from any of our fine logos and get cracking on that massive banner.

Should you win Hendrie's cash, we'll be sure to complement the sum with goods from our vast stores. And, if you're nearby, we'll take you out for a dinner.

We have little doubt that one of you can dominate this contest. You have, after all, proven to be the finest Google map experts on the planet.

Be sure to check out Hendrie's show here. You won't be disappointed. ®
