Reg hack triumphs on Rockall

Success for North Atlantic charity adventure

We have just received via carrier guillemot the tremendous news that our very own Lester Haines last week succeeded in his attempt to conquer Rockall - the world's remotest islet - in aid of charity.

Details of the historic event are available on UK satire website The Rockall Times, and we are delighted to reprint here a couple of snaps of the mission showing team member John Cunningham assaulting the sacred rock:

And in case you're wondering what the view's like from the top of Rockall, try this tasty pic of the vast North Atlantic:

Of course, the Rockall Ho! assault team didn't travel 230 nautical miles into the ocean for the good of their health. The whole operation was planned to raise funds for the MEdia inititiative of Mental Health Media. Details of the charity are available here, and if you fancy making an online donation, you can do so right here at the dedicated Justgiving page.

As for Lester, he is reportedly right now enjoying a fulmar sandwich and a large glass of Old Capt'n Trumpy's Rockall Rum in a hostelry somewhere in the Orkney Isles, but promises to be back on Reg duty next week. Well done that man. ®
