Red Flag Linux plumps for Real

RealPlayer 10 now available

RealNetworks his week signed a deal with Red Flag Software, the top Chinese Linux distributor to license RealPlayer 10 for distribution with the Red Flag Linux desktop. This extends the existing RealPlayer lead on Linux the company says.

The move was announced alongside RealPlayer 10 for Linux coming out in nine new languages, and on Mac OS X in four new language versions.

RealPlayer is already bundled on the Linux versions from Novell, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems and Turbolinux for use on Linux PCs, and by Motorola in its Linux-based mobile handsets.

RealPlayer for Linux was developed in the Helix Community through the joint efforts of RealNetworks and more than 100 external software contributors, which included both volunteers and developers sponsored by partner companies.

RealPlayer 10 for Linux is now available for free download in the following languages and markets, English (North America and UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish as well as Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The RealPlayer 10 versions added for the Mac OS X were in French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
