BT execs in bitter row – report

'Complete fiction' - BT

BT's top execs are involved in an "increasingly acrimonious power struggle", according to a report at the weekend.

The Mail on Sunday reckons there's a "whispering campaign" against BT Retail boss, Pierre Danon, who is being blamed for the telco's lacklustre performance.

The report also claims there's an internal squabble between Danon and FD Ian Livingstone and that BT chief exec Ben Verwaayen is likely to hang up his boots with the next two years.

All in all, the story paints a pretty unhappy picture of life at the top of the UK's dominant telco.

A spokesman for BT dismissed the story claiming there was no squabble between top BT execs. He also insisted that Verwaayen "isn't going anywhere".

"The story is complete fiction," he said. ®
