Evesham Technology is to axe jobs in cost-cutting exercise.
Workers at the Worcestershire-based computer maker learned that jobs were on the line at the beginning of the week.
A spokeswoman for Evesham declined to say how many jobs were under threat, although it's understood that between 20 and 30 jobs could be at risk.
However, she confirmed that the company was restructuring and that the redundancy programme should be finished by the end of the month.
She told The Register: "The company is restructuring to pursue a policy of an aggressive marketing strategy. We deeply regret that some posts have become redundant."
Although the company hopes that those facing the chop can be found positions elsewhere within the company, this has brought little comfort for those who face an uncertain future.
Insiders have spoken of the shock that greeted people returning to work after the Christmas and New Year break.
One source spoke of the "barbaric" way people had been treated and told us of the "vile" atmosphere at the company.
Last month Evesham - which employs some 480 people - was slapped by the advertising watchdog for bombarding people with unwanted junk email. ®
