HP claims thinnest, lightest Pocket PC

And one for the road warriors

HP is claiming thinnest and lightest Pocket PC, for the iPAQ h1910, launched today in the US for an estimated street price of $299.

That's a nice price point for Johnny Consumer. For the Enterprise, HP today launches a networking/security feature-rich device, the iPAQ Pocket PC h5450. This has built-in Bluetooth, 802.11b Wireless LAN access and the security fetish

, biometric ID capabilities (i.e. a fingerprint reader). This has a street price of $699.

The h1910 is built on an Intel xScale 200MHz CPU, comes with 64MB RAM and is supplied with a sync cable. There are also accessories and add-ons, such as Bluetooth headsets, tougher case etc. which come at a price.

The h5450 has a 400MHz xScale, 64MB RAM, a secure digital (SD) expansion slot for more storage, loads of comms utilities and apps. Both are supplied with colour TFT screens which feature "the same legendary screen technology as the HP iPAQ Pocket PC h3900 series".
