RSA teams up with Courion for identity management

Modular approach

ComputerWire: IT Industry Intelligence

RSA Security Inc teamed up with identity management software vendor Courion Corp to enable the management of user identities and access privileges across heterogeneous e-business environments.

As part of the partnership, Bedford, Massachusetts-based RSA's ClearTrust web access management software will be integrated with Framingham, Massachusetts-based Courion's AccountCourier user provisioning and PasswordCourier password management software.

Through the integration, Courion's AccountCourier software is now able to grant, revoke and modify user accounts on portals managed by RSA's ClearTrust, while Courion's Password Courier is now able to provide self-service password reset and synchronization for ClearTrust Web. The latter feature enables users to reset their password without involving a help desk agent and allows them to synchronize the password with others not managed by ClearTrust.

The integration is enabled by two Courion software modules: the AccountCourier Account Management Module for RSA ClearTrust, and the PasswordCourier Password Management Module for RSA ClearTrust. Both modules are available now from Courion and its partners.

The partnership builds on an existing deal between the two companies to integrate Courion's PasswordCourier product with RSA's SecuID authentication software and incorporate RSA's BSAFE encryption software throughout Courion's identity management software. A PasswordCourier Password Management Module for RSA SecurID is already available from Courion following that deal.
