UK ISP V21 to give £8,000 to charity

Fulfilling sign-up pledge

V21 is to donate more than £8,000 to charity, the UK ISP confirmed today.

The donation comes after it pledged last year to donate £1 to charity for each new user it signed up to its unmetered service.

The cash will be donated to children's charities Barnardo's and Capital Radio's Help a London Child.

In a statement V21 said: "We have seen a huge drive in customer support and hope that the continued new customer signups grow to be even larger numbers for next year so that we can indeed support some more worthwhile charities."

Earlier this year a row erupted over whether V21 had actually handed cash over Barnardo's.

A spokeswoman for Barnardo's said she expected to receive the donation by the end of May. ®
