Nildram cuts cost of business-based broadband

There are further signs that the broadband marketplace is becoming more competitive following Nildram's decision to cut the cost of its ethernet-based 'S' series range of broadband products.
The business class S500/R Service is reduced from £110 a month to £99. Its S1000/R product is cut from £170 to £130 a month and S2000/R is slashed from £270 to £160 a month a saving of £1,320 per year. All prices exclude VAT.
The company - which has around 700 broadband users - said it has been able to cut costs because of "improved economies of scale".
According to Iain Ogilvie, Nildram's marketing manager, more and more businesses are enquiring about broadband.
Not only is Nildram seeing an increase in new enquiries, it is also seeing interest from customers interested in changing ISPs following the completion of their 12 month contract, he said.
Last week Nildram was one a clutch of ISPs to respond quickly to news that BT Wholesale is to cut the cost of single user USB installation from October. ®
