Bloke in knickers and bra hoax fools The Sun

Dotcom viral marketing scam

A London-based dotcom has admitted it was behind a hoax involving a revenge-seeking woman and a stack of pictures of her cheating boyfriend in red knickers and bra.

UCP UK, which owns the text and photo messaging service uboot, concocted the idea of a cheated lover who took revenge on her ex by putting photos of him in girls' underwear on her personal uboot home page.

The Sun splashed the story on page 3 next to Nikkala, 19 from Middlesex, who was wearing little more than a G-string and a smile.

"WWW.RAT - girl puts pics on Net of ex wearing her red lacy undies after he cheats with her pal," screamed the tabloid.

However, its rival, The Mirror, and the more up-market Telegraph were a little more sceptical about the revengeful actions of the 22-year-old blonde who called herself "The Pimptress".

In a statement issued this afternoon, uboot, the outfit behind the hoax, coughed up to the scam intended promote uboot's new photo messaging community called "cheeez".

"It was a bit of a surprise to find that Pimptress got so much interest - we've had over 100,000 hits to the site today," said Edward Orr, MD of UCP.

"We're sorry if we've misled anyone but I hope everyone can see from this the fun that can be had with uboot and cheeez," he said.

Ho, ho, ho - how we laughed.

However, if Orr thinks the revenge of a cheated woman is nasty, just wait until he feels the wrath of one very pissed off tabloid.

By the way, anyone notice any similarities with the cheatingscum.com hoax that fooled certain members of the press earlier this year? ®
