C2000 parades financial welly in system builder market

Promotes Epstein

Computer 2000 is touting its financial strength in a move to capture more business in the UK system builder market. The Tech Data sub has promoted Rob Epstein, previously in charge of the company's Compaq ops, to run its components division.

The company claims that many smaller distributors are struggling to extend sufficient credit to smaller systems builders.

"There is more pressure on smaller distributors," Epstein says, "and as a result, more pressure of smaller resellers. Keeping the cash flowing is a challenge for these companies at the best of times, in the current climate it is even harder. Computer 2000 has the resources to help them do business and get on with the job of building systems."

Epstein joined C2000 from Datrontech, the now bust distie, where he ran first the company's white box business, and then part of its components division. Before that he was joint MD of Olympian Computers, a system builder. ®
