LogoWatch Telco punts for pink pound

Norweb undergoes chromatic realignment

Oooh, lovely!

Well, it's all go on the corporate makeover front. Oh yes, it's been a busy time in the land of Powerpoint presentations and flipcharts.

According to an email we received this morning, One of the UK's leading telecoms suppliers for business communications is re-branding.

As of yesterday, 'Norweb Telecom' became 'Your Communications.' Naturally, the telco did not stop at a mere touchy-feely name change. What any self-respecting company needs for its new customer-friendly inferface is a tart's boudoir pink website. That ought to do it. Now you're cooking. In fact, you're: ...challenging the way existing telecommunications companies communicate with customers, prospects, suppliers and resellers.

So, will this telephone conversation shortly be a thing of the past?:

Prospect: "Can I have broadband please?"
Telco callcentre operative: "No, push off."

Ok, that's a little unfair. Norweb has a fine pedigree in challenging the way companies communicate with customers. For example, its attempt to transmit broadband through power lines was aborted after the signals interfered with radio transmissions. Challenging stuff indeed.

Still it looked good on paper. And for Your Communications, the customer will always come first. MD Hugh Logan explains: The new brand is about putting our customers at the centre of everything we do and putting them in control of their technology. We want to get away from jargon and acronyms.

Well here's an acronym for you - wtf are you talking about? ®
