Keep George Dubya alive

Palm game gives president Tamagotchi treatment

pic of PortaBush

Play with your own personal Dubya president in a new game for Palm handhelds. You can get Bush Jnr to pass bills, flirt with interns, eat a Texan bar-b-que (chicken), blow people up (the Vatican if you fancy), beat up Al Gore or get steamingly drunk, depending on what mood you're in.

But like the Tamagotchis of yesteryear, the idea is to keep ole Dubya alive, so you have to remain popular while keeping the weight off or you'll get impeached.

Knowledge of the game, released a fortnight ago, has spread by word of mouth and purchases of it have rocketed in recent days. It is 100 times more popular than the next biggest celebrity pet, Pamela Anderson.

An exec on the site which built the game, www.eruptor.com, told the Mirror yesterday that sales had been particularly good from China. Wonder why that is. Presumably, the Chinese government removed the site block for Eruptor when it saw the software.

Called PortaBush, you can download the game here for $4.99 or get a free trial version (with a quarter of the features).

It's got an average 4 out of 5 rating and will work on all Palm version 3.0 and above. ®
