Citrix buys mystery XML portal co
But what's that green liquid?
Citrix is to acquire back office integration outfit Sequoia Software. It's Citrix' biggest acquisition since its stock crashed a year ago, coinciding with a boardroom coup that ousted founder Ed Iacobucci. The cash deal values Sequoia Software at $184.6 million.
Sequoia produces XPS, a messaging portal that's transport neutral and handles MQ messaging, COM messages and Internet application protocols. Citrix president Mark Templeton described it as an "aggregation point" for information and applications. The benefit for Citrix is pretty obvious - it extends the capabilities of Citrix ASPs into something similar to the HailStorm .NET stuff Microsoft talked about earlier this week.
