Time rolls out a £379 PC inc VAT
Ex-demo though
Time Computers has launched a range of home PCs starting at £379.
The Ellipse line is aimed at first time buyers or punters who want a cheap second computer. The PCs are all ex-demo - prices start at £379, with a 366MHz AMD Duron chip, 4.3Gb hard drive, 32Mb SDRAM, 32Mb CD Rom drive, 15-inch screen and Windows ME.
The most expensive system costs £899 and comes with Athlon 800MHz chip, 27Gb hard drive, 256Mb memory, 17-inch screen, Soundblaster 128 and Windows ME.
It's interesting that these ex-demo machines have appeared on sale as industry rumour is focussed on the future of Time's stores. The word is that Time's Business Centre's are under the cosh this month to hit very tough sales targets or they're to shut down. Not too mention the general chat about Time's financial health.
Anyway, the British PC maker has also started a separate offer through its ISP subsidiary Supanet. The Supa Time Machine range of PCs comes with one year's free unlimited Net access.
The entry model is the 800 Supa Time Machine, which comes with 800MHz AMD Duron, 64MB SDRAM, 20GB hard drive, 15-inch monitor, Windows ME, and costs £899. The 1200 model is based on the 1200MHz Athlon, and has 256MB SDRAM, 40GB hard drive, CD-RW, 17-inch screen and Windows ME. It costs £1,399. All prices include VAT. ®
