Apple event to sell MacOS X midnight 23/24 March

It's party time

Want to get your hands on MacOS X as early as possible? Apple UK will be selling its next-generation operating system as soon as the clock chimes midnight on Friday 23 March.

Mac fans will have to head over to Micro Anvika's main Tottenham Court Road, London showroom, which is hosting Apple's MacOS X launch party the evening before the OS' official ship date of 24 March.

As a further incentive to tempt decent, God-fearing computer users to schlep into central London late on a Friday night, Apple will hand out free MacOS X T-shirts to the first 100 folk to show up. The first 50 get a free mouse too. Wow.

Food and booze will also be provided. So will "live music".

On the 24th, Apple will be rolling out the OS at Apple resellers around the country.

The MacOS X do follows Apple's recent MacWorld Expo Tokyo keynote broadcast held at PC World in Croydon. The Croydon store is the best performing Apple seller in the chain. Micro Anvika is a long-time Mac supporter, so Apple clearly has a programme in place to pat all its top resellers on the back. ®
