Kansas killer lured victims through the Net

S&M, torture, death

The Kansas man accused of killing women he met through the Net led a double life as a "master" of domination, a US court heard today.

John Robinson allegedly lured one of the women, Suzette Trouten, into becoming his employee and sex slave before her body was found in a barrel on Robinson's property last June. Police later found the bodies of four other women in steel drums on his land. It is alleged he used a hammer or blunt instrument to beat them to death.

The 56-year-old man sat in court today as a friend of Trouten's described how the three of them had been embroiled in the world of "BDSM" (bondage, dominance, submission and masochism) with various partners, Reuters reports. Trouten met her "Doms", or dominant males, through the Net, Canadian housewife Lore Remington testified.

"I felt something was very wrong," she said as she told the preliminary hearing, held at Johnson County District Court, of her last encounter with Trouten.

Trouten left her home in Michigan in February 2000, telling her friends and family she was off to work for Robinson in Kansas. She disappeared in March.

Robinson, a married father of four, is accused of killing six women (one of the bodies was never found) and faces 56 counts of fraud and forgery spanning 15 years. ®
