BT pays £4.64bn for Viag

Cash Register BT today confirmed that it will buy the 45 per cent stake in German fixed and mobile operator Viag Interkom for €7.25bn (£4.64bn) completing an option agreement announced last year.

Web filtering outfit SurfControl reported a record Q2 increase in filtering product revenues of 425 per cent of $8.4m (Q2 1999: $1.6m) it announced today. It also reported record Q2 overall revenues up 200 per cent to $9.5m (Q2 1999: $3.2m). EBITDA for the quarter (excluding the provision for tax on share options) was significantly better than market expectations at a loss of $3.2m (1q2 999: $1.6m EBITDA loss).

Cash strapped etailer Letsbuyit.com could announce today that it has found a buyer, according to reports. Last week Swiss outfit CoShopper.com said it was interested in the troubled dotcom. ®
