Anand is clearly in a retrospective mood, and takes us on a walk through the year that wasn't the start of a new millennium, but did start with a two. But enough of that, and onto the chipsets and CPUs. this is only part one, so expect the lowdown on the rest of the hardware favourites in the next few days.



Overclockers Australia have been very impressed by a new CD Writer they investigated. Although the Aopen CRW1232 CD Rewriter doesn't claim to be burnproof, the guys say they couldn't make a coaster, no matter how hard they tried until the defrag. Check it out

The good doctor Tom's site makes its way into the new year with a look at a couple of hard drives, one from Western Digital and the other from Fujitsu. Each has 40GB total capacity and run at 7200 and 5400 respectively. If you are in the market, neither disk performed badly so to distinguish between the two, you'll need the subtleties. Go
