Internet gets Royal approval

Prince Andrew loves it but can't troubleshoot for toffee

Prince Andrew has professed his love for the Internet but like any old-skool Dad turns to his daughters if anything goes wrong.

The former Navy man, famous for his on-off relationship with kids-book writing red-headed snorter Fergie, was over in the States visiting UK Web designers when he spoke of his new media passion, the BBC reported.

Not only has Andy been wired for a while ("I also use it on a not infrequent basis") but he is also an e-commerce buff. "I've bought a number of things on the web over the last few years," he said. But when it comes to things going wrong, he's lost and turns to daughters Beatrice and Eugenie who are "fairly hip and up-to-date" with the Net.

But that's not all. Like any true British blue blood, Andrew made a point of bigging up the UK in the face of Yankee adversity. "Web design was brought across from the US to the UK and we are now bringing back over here. The UK designers are probably some of the best in the field and we are going out there and taking market share," he said.

Good lad. See, the royals do have their uses. ®
