Computacenter founder has ‘Dallasty’ sense of style

Expensive home is fit for JR

Computacenter co-founder Peter Ogden has been enjoying publicity from both the

Sun

and the

Daily Mail

as he owns a very pricey des res in the fourth most expensive place in the world.

Ogden has a home in Sandbanks, near Poole, in Dorset. The Mail got on the case first and called Ogden's mock Georgian home 'South Fork', after the Ewing family residence in TV's Dallas. The Sun was either kinder, or was reflecting the taste of its readership, and called it 'stylish'. The price tag was put at £7 million for the beach front property.

For some reason the Sun, showing the level of research and attention to detail it is famous for, was under the impression Ogden is chief executive of Psion. The Mail article had also been out for a week before the Sun got round to copying it.

The price of property per sq ft in Sandbanks, based on a per sq ft price of a two bedroom apartment, is £689. The most expensive place in the world to live is Shoto, Shibuya in Tokyo where property is £895 per sq ft. The Peak on Hong Kong's Barker Road is in second position, and London's Eaton Square is third. ®
