And mega Celeron 600 overclocking

Sharky Extreme has put the moves on the Hercules' 64MB GeForce2 Ultra and ended up doing the 'moonwalk all night at the Sharky Extreme Top Secret Moon Base and Brewery'.

What it says is "The 3D Prophet II Ultra is an incredibly fast video card. It runs rings around GeForce2 GTS and RADEON cards while matching other GeForce2 Ultra cards. It does the job, it does it well, and it does it with funky blue heat sinks. It's fast, it's expensive, and it may or may not be for you. If you have the money, we doubt you will be disappointed."

Still on gaming cards and Planet Hardware has got under the hood of

MSI's GeForce2 card, the Starforce 815

. It reckons the card is as good as the other GeForce2 cards on the market. Its bundled with the Video-out daughter card by default, which is a bonus. Overclocking is described as a 'relatively simple task.'

The bad points of this card are a lack of a gaming bundle of any kind, as well as the uninformative users manual. Planet Hardware concludes: "If you're looking for a great all around GeForce2 card, with lots of gaming-centric features like a bundle, look at the Elsa GLADIAC or the Hercules 3D Prophet II. However, if you want a no-frills card, with default TV-OUT, give the MSI Starforce 815 some serious consideration."

Over at OC Workbench they have a posting from a Taiwanese user reckoning that are a batch of Celeron 600s out there which can be overclocked to 1Ghz and above. Get the gen on which batch from which fab
