Apple UK MD moves to take up Euro role

Education. Education. Education

Apple UK's General Manager, Brendan O'Sullivan, is leaving the local operation to head the company's Europe-wide drive to boost sales in the education market.

O'Sullivan will be replaced by Mark Rogers, currently interim VP for sales and marketing for Asia/Pacific. Rogers joins in October.

The appointment of a sales and marketing guy to the UK top slot reinforces what appears to be Apple's policy of relegating the UK operation to a regional sales office, while running the main business out of Apple Europe's Paris HQ. Last year, Apple pulled German, Swiss, Austrian and, earlier, UK marketing staff out of their local sites and sent them into Paris.

O'Sullivan was MD for some 15 months after taking over from his predecessor, Jon Molyneux, in June 1999. Molyneux left Apple UK to join Scoot.com. ®
