HW Roundup Freaks cook eggs on CPUs

And good stuff about the 815

Kyle, at HardOCP points us to Freaknuts, who are turning their PC technology into a method for making a good solid breakfast.

The lads at Tom's Hardware have an interesting and comprehensive piece reviewing 18 motherboards using the i815 chipset. The Solano, you will recall, is the chipset supporting PC-133, which Intel was forced to develop when its cunning Rambus plans came to naught with Caminogate last year. According to the review, this platform is completely stable, and is a good follow up to the nearly dead and much lamented BX chipset. Interestingly, at this year's Computex, mobo manufacturers were flocking in their droves to support the 815, while the 820e, Intel's latest iteration of Caminogate, got precious little support in Intel's famous wall of mobos.

At JC's pages, there is a comparison of the Duron wattage. Go there to see how the 750 begins to hum a little tune with the latest speed step.

And Sharky Extreme nipped over to ECTS to take a gander at a Voodoo 5 6000. Sharks is also looking at the Cleopatra game, which really seems to get his asp. ®

That's the wobble for the day. Want to wibble more? Wobble over to the rest of our hardware roundups here.
