ISPA not charging for whiners

The Internet Service Providers Association has noticed that people are reluctant to complain if they have to pay to do it. Fortunately, they are not total boneheads, and have reviewed the procedure.

In a statement to The Register, the ISPA said:

"ISPA has found that the £15 administration fee, which was usually charged for launching the formal complaints procedure as outlined in the ISPA Code of Practice, was acting as a deterrent to running the complaints procedure properly and was impeding ISPA's ability to reach a proper solution.

That part really was rocket science wasn't it?

Anyway, it goes on:

Therefore, ISPA Council has made the decision to waive the fee. This is a decision which will apply to all complaints against any members. As part of our regular review of our Code of Practice, which is currently taking place, we will be assessing the entire complaints process to make it more effective."

Isn't that reassuring?

So, now everyone can stop whinging in Newsgroups and complain - for free - to their hearts' content to the ISPA. Provided, of course, that the people you want to complain about are members of the organisation. ®

Post Script: ISPA would like to make it clear that there never was any charge for making an informal complaint via email or telephone, and that the majority of cases are resolved in this way.
