boo.com to start selling clogs?

Dutch ISP in 'exclusive negotiations'

boo.com could be falling into Dutch hands as negotiations to buy the stricken online sports gear e-tailer drag on.

According to a report in today's Wall Street Journal, Dutch ISP Chello Broadband is in exclusive negotiations with Boo, with sources close to the talks claiming a deal will be announced "very soon".

Liquidator KPMG was today letting nothing slip, refusing to either confirm or deny if Chello was interested in buying the London-based company.

"Negotiations are ongoing with a number of prospective buyers," one KPMG representative told The Register. "That's not to say it will be sold in one go, or in several parts."

The speculation about Chello was dismissed by KPMG as just that - speculation. And the company is still refusing to put a deadline on when a sale will be concluded.

"This is new territory both for ourselves and for the buyers – no-one's ever liquidated a high profile dot com before in this country," the KPMG representative said.

Boo.com, founded by Swedish model Kasja Leander and writer Ernst Malmsten, flopped after a lack of investment left shareholders high and dry. ®
