Flame Of The Week CeBIT special

Lazy show organisers have let down exhibitors & public

On the back of the brouhaha surrounding CeBIT's decision that online journalists can't be accredited and therefore shouldn't be allowed into the show, we received this email from one of our readers. It was sent to the CeBIT organisers and cc'd to us, Tom's Hardware and ZDNet.

I am writing this letter to show my disgust at your policy of banning all on-line news services from your show. You have done me and your exhibitors a great disservice. As a network administrator for a medium size company

I look forward to checking on-line news services such as Tom's Hardware Guide, The Register, ZDNet, and others on a regular basis to keep up to date on what is happening in the technology world. Traditional Paper press is TOO SLOW, and Fixed Bandwidth broadcast news is not an option in my workplace/office. From the charges you force your exhibitors and attendees to pay, you should find a way to verify on-line news sources.

Have you tried typing in www.tomshardware.com in a web browser lately? How about www.theregister.com? Not too difficult to verify. I suggest you change your policy, and issue press passes to legitimate on-line news sources ASAP. And in my opinion most fixed band broadcast news services are too worried about ratings to carry high ethics. You should rethink that idea as well. David Cafaro Network Admin./Programmer
