Intel garners fresh clutch of domain names

Gather round, small investors, and ask the SEC questions...

Christine Dotts, at Intel, has been up to her tricks again and registered four new domain names on Friday when the chip giant thought the world wasn't looking. Dotts, based at Intel's Chandler site, registered GATHEROUND.ORG, SHARECAFE.ORG, IMAGEROOM.ORG and IMAGESPRING.NET on the 18th of June. None of the sites are yet live but they will be. The SHARECAFE.ORG one interests us because in the last week there's been quite a bit of talk about Intel's share price, given that two brokers pre-released news about CuMine being late. That led to calls on Friday to the Securities and Equities Commission (SEC) to see if something could be done about brokers pre-releasing info that Intel later confirms. According to Dow Jones News, Arthur Levitt, who heads up the SEC, wants companies to give better disclosure of info they leak to brokers and the ilk. Shareholders were a little miffed that they saw the share price of Intel fall on the news during the week. So maybe SHARECAFE.ORG will be the kind of place that small investors can sit around and chug espresso coffees while they boot up The Register for forward info on the chip giant. ®
