Happy Cat posts i810 benchmarks – now translation added

The Cat in Hokkaido is undaunted by Chipzilla

Updated Standing up bravely against threats and Intel injunctions, corner shop Happy Cat tonight posted benchmarks relating to the 810 chipset. We have now obtained a translation of the Japanese text which goes with the graph. It says: "The Intel 810 will direct the market for Intel and it integrates the VGA chip and it will be out and sold this summer. "Integrated VGA exists in two kinds for the i810: DVM or UMA (unified memory architecture, using system RAM) or an outside source of memory called DC-100 (UMA is slower and it is also the technique used in the MediaGX while DC-100 is the technique used by SiS which uses external memory like a graphics board). "It will have ATA-66 and 33 and 6 PCI slot support. The benchmark graph shows that the chip will perform at the G200 level, whether this is enough (compared to other solutions that will be out)." (Thanks to Jonathan Hou at Fullon3D for the translation). Happy Cat attracted the ire of Intel by posting pictures of previous products the Goliath has not yet announced. Further down its pages, Happy Cat is still showing pix of the i820 chipset which drew down threats from the Godzilla of the chip industry. The translation of the text which goes with these pix is as follows: "Current Celerons do not use 0.25 micron process but a 0.22-0.23 process instead. The Intel 820 Camino should be announced around May although I can’t say much about it. There is support for SDRAm and 133 Mhz bus (except for i810 which will have the i752 Portola integrated)." The Happy Cat seems undaunted by Intel's threats. ® Intel Developer Forum coverage
