NVMe. We've written about it. You know all about it. But are you using it? We'd love to hear your thoughts

Are you deploying this storage tech – or is it barely on your radar? We want to hear from you either way, please

Reg survey We've all seen more than enough marketing hype in IT by now, and probably more enough to last several lifetimes.

But technology is relentless, and another buzzword will surely hit our screens soon, no matter how effective the filters we run. And the world of enterprise storage, after drifting through much of the nineties and early noughties, has been humming along of late with rapid-fire developments, and thus rapid-fire buzzwords.

Which brings us to the latest question we have for you: is NVMe just another fad, or has the technology already begun to fit itself into your organisation?

NVMe is a storage specification designed, as ever, to enable systems to access and write our expanding volumes of data faster and more efficiently. But unlike previous specs and protocols, it is designed not just for the back- end storage in use today, but to be ready for whatever new storage technologies will come to market in the foreseeable future.

Against this background, our latest Reg reader survey asks what's really happening with NVMe adoption in your organisation. How much do you know about it? What do you think of it? Are you actually using it in production yet?

As usual, your responses will be anonymous and your privacy assured.
