OpenStack-flinger Mirantis signs landmark NTT deal

Private cloud - as a service, sir?

Cloud-flinger Mirantis has signed up global telco giant NTT as its first data centre service provider partner.

NTT has announced Private OpenStack "as a service" on its NTT Enterprise Cloud, a fully managed service running in its data centres. The service will be offered from 140 NTT data centres, be fully managed and deliver 10 Gbps connectivity to the cloud. It’ll be run on Mirantis’s OpenStack spin.

Mirantis has pitched OpenStack, and thus its business, as providing the “only open alternative” to Amazon’s AWS. Founded in 1999, Mirantis has $220m in equity funding.

NTT called OpenStack “an essential component” of private cloud with Mirantis bringing “industry-leading technology and processes”. ®
