Eight Kerbal devs jump ship

Squad, the company behind the popular Kerbal Space Program game, has lost eight of its key developers after they handed in their notice simultaneously.

"All good things must come to an end, and so it is for us. It is time for each of us to move on from Squad," the team said in a Reddit post.

"Kerbal Space Program is an incredible game and has truly been a joy to create. We have greatly enjoyed working together with such a tightly knit, professional, and talented development team, and with such a wonderful community."

The group was tightlipped as to the reasons for the mass exodus, but rumors have abounded of long hours, poor pay, and difficult management making it difficult for Squad to keep key staff. The company has said that it will be hiring new talent.

"Since the beginning of Kerbal, developers have been coming and going, some stay longer than others but development has never stopped," a spokesman told The Reg.

"Of course we are going to miss them, they did a great job and we wish them the best. As a company we are prepared for this kind of situation, and we are already working on what comes next." ®
