Laos bans Galaxy Note 7

Now Samsung's in trouble: the world's 116th-ranked nation by gross domestic product, Laos, has banned importation and distribution of the Galaxy Note 7.

The nation's 7m inhabitants are responsible for 3.7m mobile subscriptions. But about half of the nation's villages are not connected to a navigable road, the monthly minimum wage is set at about US$78.15 a month and the CIA World Fact Book says "mobile cellular usage has slowed as the regulator imposed a strict policy on pricing and competition is effectively discouraged; network performance has suffered because of insufficient maintenance and upgrades."

So even the few that can afford the Note 7 won't have much fun using it.

We take it back: Now Samsung's in the same amount of trouble it was in before.
