Tesla spends $2.6bn on solar

Tesla Motors has announced it is to buy SolarCity, an American energy company that installs solar power systems.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, made his intention to merge both companies clear in his Master Plan, Part Deux blog post.

Musk wants solar panels on the roof of all Tesla cars in order to achieve sustainable energy economy. ®
