EE roaming outage hits Brits basking abroad
Operator asks: Have you tried switching it on and off again?
EE customers basking in the first days of their hols abroad have frustratingly been unable to access their phones due to a major outage across the network.
The biz, which was bought by BT for £12.5bn earlier this year, is Blighty's largest mobile carrier and has 31 million connections across its mobile, fixed and wholesale networks.
However, customers have been unable to access Internet data for at least two days.
A spokeswoman from EE said it was aware that some EE customers travelling abroad in certain countries are experiencing issues affecting their voice and data roaming services.
"We apologise to any customers affected, and we are continuing to urgently work with a number of our roaming network partners to resolve the problem as soon as possible."
She added: "We recommend that customers try restarting their device or turning flight mode on and off as that has restored service for a number of customers."
Needless to say, customers managed to find an internet connection in order to moan on Twitter:
#funny how #EE claims to be the UK's fastest network when they can't fix their #roaming #service for the second day running!shame on you @EE
