Comparex boss Mike Chambers packs bags and heads for hills
Some people do 12 years for murder... channel exec released for good behaviour
Comparex's veteran UK boss has left the Microsoft enterprise licensing reseller, the business has confirmed to The Channel.
Mike Chambers was one of the early employees at the Harrow-on-the-Hill-based organisation, branded PC-WARE when he joined as managing director in 2004.
“We can confirm that Mike Chambers has decided to resign and to leave Comparex,” a spokeswoman told us. “We gladly accept applications for the position as general manager.”
El Chan is read by headhunters but hasn’t yet branched out into recruitment services.
The business turned over £667,000 when Chambers landed, and is understood to have generated sales of £76m in the financial year ended 31 March 2016 off the back of chunky public sector wins, which likely knocked profit margins.
It is understood that Michel van Teijlingen, head of Comparex Netherlands, is now acting UK head while the business seeks a permanent successor. He will work with Chambers on the handover as the outgoing boss works his notice period.
“After 12 years of working at Comparex and growing the business to £70m plus, it is time for a new challenge,” Chamber said to us.
