Who should deliver our next Reg lecture? You tell us

You could be one of our brains in a bar

After another cracking series of summer lectures, we’re planning our next run of talks, and we want you to help us put them together. So whether you want to take the mike, or know someone we simply must speak to, now’s your chance.

We’ve had a succession of brilliant speakers over the last couple of years, covering everything from driverless cars, the future of AI, the reality of life as a hostage in Iraq, and spending an entire career at loggerheads with GCHQ. You can see the lot right here.

As important, our speakers have always been willing to continue the debate informally over drinks - and are invariably as complimentary about the quality of the conversation as the attendees are about the formal part of the evening.

We want to run even more lectures in the near future, and are always looking for speakers with an interesting story to tell.

So, if you know your topic inside out, can hold a roomful of Reg readers spellbound during a lecture and bat ideas back and forth in the Q&A, we’d like to hear from you.

We’re interested in all kinds of topics, though space, robots, cutting edge technology, and general spookery are always a good start. The trouble with immortality, threats to humanity and the problems of privacy are also up there.

If we’re sure our readers will love it, you’re in. If we’re not sure, we may still be willing to take a flyer.

So if you tick (nearly) all those boxes - or know someone else who does - we really want to hear from you.
