OneDrive go for Pokemon Go

Continuing its commitment to adding features nobody asked for, Microsoft has added Pokemon detection to OneDrive.

The Redmond giant screenshots from Pokemon Go uploaded to OneDrive accounts will now be automatically detected and labeled as coming from the game as well as the Pokemon that appear in the shots.

"A lot of players take screenshots of their captured Pokémon to show off to their friends—both digitally and in person. We had to make it easier for you to find all your Pokémon screenshots, so we went to work and partnered with Microsoft Research to bring a Pokémon detector to OneDrive," Microsoft said today.

The detection is part of a raft of improvements to OneDrive's photo albums.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo mobile game has made its way into the Washington DC press corps, interrupting a US State Department security briefing on terrorism:

With Apple saying Pokemon Go for iOS is now the app with the most downloads in its first week, maybe this is getting a bit out of hand. ®
