Ubuntu forums hacked

Ubuntu maker Canonical says that its Linux distro's user forums have been hacked, and the usernames, IP addresses, and email addresses of roughly 2 million users have been swiped.

Canonical CEO Jane Silber said no passwords were taken via an SQL injection attack, and that the miscreants did not appear to have accessed any tables other than those containing user profiles.

Silber says the exploited security bug has been patched and normal service will be restored. ®
