SCC and Entanet haul in big hitters

Sales and ops chiefs rock up during the silly season

A couple of senior hires showed up in the channel this week with Entanet bulking out its senior management line-up and SCC poaching a big hitter from infrastructure integrator Proact.

Midlands-based SCC has hired James Wallis to run its public sector business, a function he performed at Proact. He was on gardening leave but rocked up at his new employer on 4 July.

Wallace joined as head for local government and healthcare, replacing Simon Forster who stepped down from the position for personal reasons - no really, it sometimes happens.

The 25-strong team the newbie will manage will be looking to make the most of data centre services sales given the investment SCC had made in bit barn capacity, and minority stakes in mobile and data businesses.

SCC confirmed Wallis will report to John Bland, managing director of UK sales.

Over at wholesale web connectivity service provider Entanet, former RSF squadron leader Paul Diamond was this week hired as chief ops man.

He spent nearly two decades as a comms engineering officer before landing at Airbus in 2001. Most recently, Diamond was veep at Rapiscan Systems, a supplier of security inspection tools.

Entanet went through a management buy-out in 2014, and is clearly looking to fine tune operations. ®
