BBC's micro:bit retail shipments near

Pre-orders open for Blighty deliveries in July

The long-awaited BBC micro:bit computer is now available for pre-order to retail and reseller customers, with single-unit orders starting at £12.50.

Earlier this year, the beeb began shipping the little single-board computer to school-children.

Farnell element14 is now taking pre-orders at resale scale, a minimum order quantity of 90 units, for three packs:

  • micro:bit go – a single-unit pack with USB cable, battery pack and quick-start guide;
  • micro:bit club – a ten-pack; and
  • micro:bit bulk – 300 units.

Single units will be offered by resellers Kitronic, Pimoroni, Sciencescope, Technology Will Save Us and The Pi Hut, all linked http://uk.farnell.com/bbc-microbit-reseller here.

The pre-orders (for July delivery) are only available in the UK so far, but Farnell element14 hopes for international sales in the future.

El Reg took a hands-on look at the BBC micro:bit back in March. ®
