The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) has warned that it is experiencing a distributed denial of service (DDoS attack).
“This was and continues to be a sustained attack against our provisioning services, email, and website.” the organisation outfit says.
As ARIN assigns internet numbers, operates WHOIS services and maintains routing information, a DDOS is not welcome. At the time of writing, ARIN says all its public-facing services “are not affected by this attack and are operating normally.” If your next WHOIS query doesn't work or you experience other internet glitchiness, you'll know why. ®
